Evensong is private by default. There is no account, no sign-in, and no server that stores your entries.
Everything you enter — your onboarding answers, journal reflections, evening examen answers, bookmarks and reading progress — is stored only on your device. We cannot read it. Deleting the app deletes it; "Reset" in Settings also erases it.
Subscriptions are processed by Apple. Our subscription provider, RevenueCat, receives a random app-generated identifier and your purchase status so the app can unlock Evensong and restore purchases. We never receive your name, email, or card details.
If you turn on the daily reminder, it is a local notification scheduled on your device. Turn it off in Settings or in iOS Settings at any time.
We do not collect analytics that identify you, we do not sell or share data, and we do not track you across apps or websites.
Evensong's readings are drawn from Charles Spurgeon's Morning and Evening (1865) and the World English Bible, both in the public domain, lightly edited for modern readers. Evensong is a devotional companion, not therapy or medical care. If you are struggling, please talk to a professional; if you are in crisis, contact local emergency services or a crisis line.
Evensong is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 13.
