Plainly: ND Dating & Friends — last updated September 5, 2026
Plainly is a place to meet people, so unlike most Forma apps it does keep some of your information on a server. This page says exactly what, why, and how to remove it.
Plainly creates an anonymous account on your device the first time you open it. There is no email, phone number or password. The account is tied to this installation; if you delete the app your access ends, and you can remove your data first with “Delete my account and data” on the You tab.
Your card (name, age from your birth year, city, pronouns, what you are here for, how you are wired, how you like to talk, what a good first meet looks like, interests, a short “good first message” line, an optional “about”, and an optional photo) is stored on our servers and shown to other signed-in Plainly members. Only your age is shown, never your birth year. Your photo is stored in a public image bucket so the app can display it; do not upload anything you would not want other members to see.
Tables you host (title, plan, venue, city, time, sensory facts) are visible to all signed-in members. Who is going is visible to members viewing that table.
Pairs you form are visible to other active pairs in the app.
Messages and plan cards are stored on our servers and visible only to members of that chat. “Yes”, “pass”, blocks and reports are stored so the app can work and so we can act on reports.
On Supabase (a hosted Postgres database and file storage) in the United States, protected by row-level security so members only ever read what the rules above allow. Plainly’s own staff can access the database to act on reports and keep the service running.
Subscriptions are processed by Apple. Our subscription provider, RevenueCat, receives your anonymous Plainly account identifier and purchase status so the app can unlock Plus and restore purchases. We never receive your name, email or card details.
We do not collect your precise location (city is what you type). We do not sell or share your data with advertisers. We do not track you across other apps or websites. We do not read your messages except when one is reported.
You tab → “Delete my account and data”. Your card, photo, tables, pairs, matches, messages and likes are deleted immediately. Reports you filed are kept in anonymised form so we can keep the service safe.
Plainly is for adults only. You must be 18 or older. If you believe someone under 18 is using Plainly, use “Block and report” or email us.
