Stride: Count Steps, Not Calories — last updated September 4, 2026
Stride is private by default. There is no account, no sign-in, and no server that stores your entries.
Everything you enter — your onboarding answers, step counts read from your phone's motion sensor, logged walks, goals, optional weight entries and progress — is stored only on your device. We cannot read it. Deleting the app deletes it; "Reset" in Settings also erases it.
Subscriptions are processed by Apple. Our subscription provider, RevenueCat, receives a random app-generated identifier and your purchase status so the app can unlock Stride and restore purchases. We never receive your name, email, or card details.
If you turn on the daily reminder, it is a local notification scheduled on your device. Turn it off in Settings or in iOS Settings at any time.
We do not collect analytics that identify you, we do not sell or share data, and we do not track you across apps or websites.
With your permission, Stride reads step counts from your phone's motion sensor (Core Motion). Step data is used only to show your counts and goals inside the app and stays on your device. Stride does not use HealthKit and does not send step data anywhere.
Stride is a walking and activity companion, not medical care. Talk to a healthcare professional before starting a new activity routine if you have a medical condition.
Stride is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 13.
