Undim: Feel Again, On Purpose — last updated September 6, 2026

Undim is a self-care app for people on antidepressants or in therapy. It runs entirely on your phone. There is no account, no sign-in and no server of ours that your entries are sent to. This page explains the little that does leave your device and why.

What Undim stores

Your name, the situation you picked, what you said is dimmed, your sparks, your "why", the word you chose for the Clean pillar, a support person's name, daily check-ins (mood, energy, how much got through), pillars, your one thing, weekly PHQ-9 answers and settings. All of it is stored in the app's private storage on your phone. Deleting the app, or tapping Delete all data in Settings, removes it permanently; there is no copy anywhere else and nothing can be recovered.

What leaves your phone

Purchases. Subscriptions are processed by Apple. Our subscription provider, RevenueCat, receives a random identifier generated on your device and your purchase status so the app can unlock Pro and restore purchases. We never receive your name, email, card details or any of your entries.

Sharing. If you choose Share on the report or the export, the text goes wherever you send it (Messages, Mail, Notes, a printer). That is your action, and the Clean pillar word and your notes are never included in the report.

Links. Learn cards link to published research and to crisis lines. Opening one uses your browser.

Notifications

If you turn on the daily reminder, it is a local notification scheduled on your device. Nothing is sent to us to trigger it. Turn it off in Settings at any time.

Health information

Undim asks about mood and includes the PHQ-9, a public-domain depression questionnaire. These answers are stored only on your phone, are not transmitted to us or to anyone else, and are not used for advertising or shared with any third party. Undim does not read from or write to Apple Health.

What we do not do

We do not collect analytics, we do not sell or share data, we do not track you across apps or websites, and we have no way to see what you enter.

What Undim is not

Undim is a self-care tool, not medical advice, diagnosis or treatment, and not a medication tapering plan. It never suggests starting, stopping or changing a dose. Those decisions belong to you and your prescriber. If you are in crisis, call or text 988 in the United States or find a line at findahelpline.com.

Children

Undim is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 16.
