The pilot light is still on.
Undim is for people on antidepressants, in therapy, or both, who feel the volume has been turned down on everything. One small thing a day. The five things the evidence says rebuild a life. A weekly PHQ-9. And, after 28 days, a readiness summary worded for the person who writes the script. Never a dose. Everything stays on your phone.
Undim is a self-care tool, not medical advice or treatment. It never suggests stopping or changing a medication; only your prescriber does that, and never abruptly. If you are in crisis, call or text 988 in the US or find a line at findahelpline.com.
Feeling dimmed has a name
In a survey of 669 people being treated for depression, 46% reported emotional blunting: fewer highs, fewer lows, not crying at the things that should make you cry, not wanting the things you used to want. For many it is a fair trade. For some it is the reason they want to come off one day. Undim exists for the second group, and for the order of operations nobody tells them: build the scaffolding first, then taper, slowly, with a prescriber who is watching.
That order is not a slogan. In the PREVENT trial, people who did an eight-week course first and then tapered with a clinician relapsed no more over two years than people who stayed on maintenance medication.
What it does
- One thingBehavioural activation: one small act a day, tied to what used to light you up, done whether or not you feel like it. In the COBRA trial it matched CBT. Tiny counts.
- The flameGrows with your last three weeks and never resets. A missed day dims it a little. There are no streaks to break.
- Five pillarsMoved, daylight, a person, on purpose, clean inputs. The things every recovery account and every trial keep pointing at. Tap what happened; any size counts.
- Weekly PHQ-9The nine-question measure clinicians use, public domain, stored only on your phone. Question 9 always shows crisis resources.
- ReadinessA 0–100 score from your last 28 days: mood steadiness, movement, daylight, people, purpose, a support person, whether your prescriber knows. A conversation starter, not a decision.
- The reportA one-page plain-text summary worded for a thirty-second read before an appointment, with the questions worth asking, including "can we plan a hyperbolic taper?"
Who it is for
Someone on an SSRI that did its job and now feels like a dimmer switch. Someone in therapy who has run out of things to do between sessions. Someone who typed "how to come off antidepressants" at 2am and found either a forum or a clinic, and wanted something for the year in between. Undim gives them a job for today and a record for the appointment.

Questions
Does Undim tell me to stop my medication?
No, and it never will. Undim does not suggest starting, stopping, skipping or changing a dose. The readiness score is a conversation starter for your prescriber, built from 28 days of your own check-ins. Stopping abruptly is dangerous; a taper is something you plan with the person who prescribes.
Is it therapy?
No. It is a self-care tool built on behavioural activation, and it works alongside therapy or medication rather than replacing either. If you are looking for a therapist, that is a good one thing for today.
What is the readiness score made of?
Mood steadiness over 28 days, days moved, days with daylight, days you reached a person, days on purpose, whether you have named someone in your corner, whether your prescriber knows you want to talk about it, and a PHQ-9 under 10. If the PHQ-9 self-harm question is above zero the score is capped and crisis resources are shown.
Where does my data go?
Nowhere. Check-ins, PHQ-9 answers and settings stay on your phone. Only Apple and our subscription provider see purchase status, keyed to a random identifier. Sharing the report is your action, and it never includes your notes or the Clean pillar word.
