Coming soon

A small house, on purpose.

Cutoff is a fit check with a door on it: seven questions and one look, so the house knows whose wardrobe it is reading. Members get a numbered card and a stylist that reads every outfit: what is working, the one fix, and the three pieces that would finish it. Small so the advice stays personal, not so that anyone is kept out.

The house reviews clothes, not people. Nearly everyone who applies seriously is admitted.

How the house works

  • The applicationSeven taste questions and one full-length look. The committee admits intent: finish it properly and you are in. Skip the look and shrug through the answers and it is not this season. Reapply in 24 hours.
  • The cardA numbered black membership card and the house's read of your taste, in two words you will want to repeat.
  • The fit checkPhotograph today's look. The house scores it on a fixed rubric out of ten and writes one sentence you will remember, plus what is working and the single fix that moves the score most.
  • The EditThree real pieces, specific to cut, fabric and color, that would complete the look. Find it opens a retailer search; some links are affiliate links, disclosed in the app.
  • StandingFront Row from an 8.0 average, Second Row from 6.5. Everyone starts standing. Your archive keeps every look and every verdict.
  • Clothes, not peopleThe AI is instructed to judge garments, fit, proportion, palette and footwear only. It never comments on bodies, faces, skin or age.

Questions

Is everyone admitted?

Almost. The committee admits intent, not looks. Roughly nine in ten people who finish the application seriously are admitted. The ones declined skipped the look and answered with shrugs. Declined applicants can reapply after 24 hours.

What does the house actually judge?

Clothes only: silhouette, proportion, palette, texture, layering, footwear, accessories. The AI is instructed never to comment on bodies, faces, skin, age or anything you did not choose to put on. Every verdict is software with an opinion, for getting dressed, not a judgment of anyone.

Is there a store?

No. The Edit names three real pieces that would finish each look, and Find it opens a retailer search in your browser. Cutoff sells nothing; some Find it links are affiliate links, so a purchase may earn Cutoff a small commission at no cost to you. The suggestions are never influenced by that.

What is free and what is membership?

Applying, your card and your first fit check are free, with the first piece of the Edit. Membership unlocks unlimited checks and the full Edit: $7.99 a week with a 3-day free trial, or $49.99 a year. Billed by Apple; cancel any time.
